Marian University men’s basketball (0-5, 0-1 NACC) dropped their NACC opener falling to Concordia Chicago by a 100-75 final.
The first half saw CUC take a significant lead after a 13-2 run saw them go ahead 20-9 with 11:20 in the half. Over the last 5:17 of the half, the Cougars went on a 13-6 run to expand their advantage to 44-27 at the break.
The two teams went back-and-forth to open the second half but the Sabres were unable to cut into their deficit. Another late push allowed the Cougars to push their lead out to 25 as the Cougars were able to finish 33-55 from the field (.600).
Juniors Logan Hamilton and Justin Wilson each finished with a team-best 16 points, while freshman Santino Phinisee and junior Joshua Streater each had 10 points off the bench. Sophomore Scott Paulus had seven rebounds to lead Marian on the boards.
Marian hits the road for MSOE Saturday, Nov. 30 in NACC action with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m.
