Marian University men’s basketball (4-20, 3-16 NACC) closed out the season falling to MSOE 56-51 in NACC action.

The Raiders were able to jump out to a 16-9 lead to open the first part of the first half before the Sabres were able to score five unanswered to cut their deficit to two.  MSOE would respond, however, managing to extend their lead out to double-digits eventually leading to a 31-20 halftime tally.

Marian was able to gradually chip away at the Raider lead eventually bringing the game to a 43-41 MSOE advantage at the 9:49 mark.  Freshman Luke Bufton hit a three-pointer to bring the deficit down to two drawing an MSOE timeout.  The break proved to be a big momentum shifter as MSOE would tally six unanswered to extend their lead back out to eight.  The Sabres would cut their deficit down to as little as four on a couple of occasions but were unable to inch closer leading to the 56-51 final.

Junior Justin Wilson closed out a strong season with a team-high 16 points, while freshman Sam Greenthal added 12 off the bench.  Sophomore Scott Paulus totaled 10 rebounds in the loss to go with three blocks.
