Rupp selected as Marian’s Veteran of the Month

 – Richard “Dick” Rupp was selected as Marian University’s Veteran of the Month. 

Rupp served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he served as a crew chief. He served four years in active duty and six years inactive duty.

“It is an honor to receive this award,” said Rupp. “I have no regrets and enjoyed my years in the service. I certainly appreciate the kindness and recognition that the younger generation is providing to veterans across the nation.”

The Veteran of the Month contest, presented by Marian University and Sunny 97.7/96.1 WTCX, highlights one area veteran each month. Each veteran chosen receives a plaque, an appreciation package from Marian University and Sunny 97.7’s sponsors, including a 3 credit undergraduate class which can be redeemed in the traditional undergraduate program or any of adult undergraduate sessions. In addition, recipients are honored with a monthly ceremony at Marian University, and have the opportunity to share their story on the radio.

Deserving veterans may be nominated by visiting Marian University will select one veteran at the end of each month.
