FOND DU LAC, Wis.- John Rosenmeier was selected as Marian University’s May Veteran of the Month.
Following 9/11, Rosenmeier joined the 173 Airborne Infantry in the United States Army, and served in the army for eight years. During his service, Rosenmeier served in Italy and Afghanistan.
“We gather this month to honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. We are honored to award John Rosenmeier the veteran of the month award,” said Andy Miller, veteran, network and communication administrator at Marian and co-advisor for the Student Veterans Organization.
The Veteran of the Month contest, presented by Marian University and Sunny 97.7/96.1 WTCX, highlights one area veteran each month. Each veteran chosen receives a plaque, an appreciation package from Marian University and Sunny 97.7’s sponsors, including a 3 credit undergraduate class which can be redeemed in summer session 2015, or in any of the adult undergraduate sessions. In addition, recipients are honored with a monthly ceremony at Marian University, and have the opportunity to share their story on the radio.
