Ritchie earns inaugural CCIW bowler of the week award

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Freshman Alyssa Ritchie of Marian University women’s bowling has been named the first ever College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) bowler of the week.

Ritchie helped lead the Sabres to victories over Carthage and Aurora to open the season at home over the weekend.  Marian won both of its traditional matches including a 1017-691 win over Carthage and a 920-676 win over Aurora. The Sabres earned a 699-605 Baker Format win over Aurora and a 744-581 Baker Format victory over Carthage. Ritchie opened her collegiate career with 31 strikes in 62 frames bowled and had only six opens out of 62 frames. Her three-game set was games of 232, 195 and 212 (639 total for the series).

Marian travels to Carthage Saturday, January 30 for their second CCIW quad of the season.
