“This award is such an honor,” said Pepper. “It truly is a pleasure to work with area veterans and give back to the community. I enjoy reaching out to local veterans to help them better understand their benefits, while supporting them through their transition to civilian life.”
The Veteran of the Month contest, presented by Marian University and Sunny 97.7/96.1 WTCX, highlights one area veteran each month. Each veteran chosen receives a plaque, an appreciation package from Marian University and Sunny 97.7’s sponsors, including a 3 credit undergraduate class which can be redeemed in the traditional undergraduate program or any of adult undergraduate sessions. In addition, recipients are honored with a ceremony at Marian University, and have the opportunity to share their story on the radio.
Deserving veterans may be nominated by visiting www.sunny977.com. Marian University will select one veteran at the end of each month.
