Pair of freshmen named Sabres of the Month for April

Softball and Lacrosse players of the monthFreshman Katy Croeker of Marian University softball and freshman Nick Klotz of Marian University men’s lacrosse have been named the Sabres of the month for April.

Croeker (Kenosha, Wis.) had a monster month at the dish leading the Sabre softball program to a share of their first NACC title in program history.  Croeker finished the month with a slash line of .407/.431/.695 with 17 runs driven.  A lot of the damage Croeker did came in the form of extra base hits with five doubles and four home runs for the month.  Croeker ranked second on the squad in April with 24 hits in her 59 at-bats and also scored 12 runs.  Her 41 total bases for the month led the squad.

Klotz (Farmington, Minn.) closed out a stellar freshman campaign leading the Sabre men’s lacrosse team in scoring.  In five games during April, Klotz led the team with 15 goals and four assists for a total of 19 points.  Five of his goals came with a man-advantage and he also ranked fourth on the squad for the month with 17 ground balls.  On the defensive end, Klotz ranked second on the team with four caused turnovers.  He led the Sabres in scoring all season long and finished third in the MLC with 43 goals on the year, fourth in the conference with 28 assists, and second in the MLC with 71 points.
