Marian University men’s volleyball (9-13, 2-6 NACC) had no answer for the tough offense of No. 4 Kean falling to the Cougars with set scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-20.
Marian trailed 17-9 in the opening set before a 6-0 run from the Sabres cut the deficit down to 17-15. The Cougars answered, however, scoring the next five points as they went on to take the first set. The Sabres once again played well into the middle of the set as the Sabres led 16-13 to open the second but a 9-1 run from Kean allowed the Cougars to pull away. In the third, Marian rallied to tie the set at 18-18 but a 7-2 run from the Cougars closed out the match.
Marian closes out a three-match home stand taking on Concordia Wis. at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 24.
