WAUKESHA, Wis. – Marian University women’s basketball has been picked 11th in the NACC preseason poll receiving 48 total votes.
Concordia University Wisconsin has been picked to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women’s basketball championship according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
The Falcons captured their second consecutive NACC title last year with an 18-2 record in league play (22-5 overall).
CUW received 14 of the 24 first-place votes and 272 points in the preseason poll.
Wisconsin Lutheran College was second with 258 points and five first-place votes, Benedictine University was third with 236 and three top nods, while Lakeland University was fourth with 223 and the remaining top votes.
Concordia University Chicago was fifth with 199 points, Alverno College sixth with 152 and MSOE seventh with 134.
Aurora University followed in eighth with 123, Dominican University ninth with 117 and Rockford University 10th with 70.
Marian University (48) and Edgewood College (40) filled out the final two spots.
The NACC’s regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
