August 23, 2019

MILWAUKEE – Marian University men’s soccer received a total of 83 points and was picked to finish 10th according to the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the league.

Dominican was picked as the favorite to take the conference crown after winning the NACC tournament last season as the No. 3 seed.  Four different teams received first-place votes led by Dominican who received 11, and MSOE who had seven first-place tallies finishing third in the poll.

Marian was only three points behind Rockford in the poll who finished ninth.  The Sabre defense had a strong season in 2018 posting the second-most saves in the NACC with 130 and recording the fifth most shutouts with five.  Marian had eight games a season ago where they allowed one or fewer goals.
