DULUTH, Minn. – Sophomore Colby Muise has been selected as the NCHA defensive player of the week after helping Marian retain possession of the Battle of Highway 41.
Muise (Yarmouth, N.S.) played a pivotal role for the Sabres in net, despite not making either start. Muise came in relief for both games against Lawrence posting a 1.85 goals-against average to go with a .913 save percentage over 64:48 of action. He finished the weekend making 21 saves and only allowing two goals, both of which came on power plays. Muise earned the 5-1 victory in the finale and then held the Vikings to only one goal in the ensuing shootout to keep the Battle of Highway 41 trophy in Fond du Lac.
