FOND DU LAC, WI, October 11 — Two college students, Sydney George from UW-Fond du Lac and Alyssa Babler from Marian University, were recognized for their community involvement and “service-above-self” during the Fond du Lac Morning Rotary Club meeting at South Hills Golf and Country Club.
The Fond du Lac Morning Rotary College Student of the Month program selects college students attending Marian University, Moraine Park Technical College, and UW-Fond du Lac, who demonstrate Rotary International’s motto of “service above self” through community involvement and volunteerism. Students are selected and recognized during the club business meeting monthly during the academic school year receiving a certificate and portfolio. Students are encouraged to attend service events, socials and additional Rotary Club meetings to network with Rotary members representing a wide variety of professional vocations in the Fond du Lac community. One goal of this program is to encourage life-long engagement in the community and education of Rotary as a service organization.
