MILWAUKEE – Freshman Ben Martin of Marian University men’s lacrosse has been selected as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week, as voted on by the sports information directors of the league.
Martin (Taneytown, Md.) continued to anchor the Marian defense, leading the Sabres to a 21-2 win over Concordia Chicago to open NACC play. He was able to grab nine ground balls in the victory and also forced three turnovers. On the season, Martin ranks second in the NACC with 52 ground balls and is fifth in the conference with 15 caused turnovers.
