Fond du Lac, Wis. – Marian University’s School of Business and
Public Safety as well as the Career and Graduate School Services office hosted its
fifth annual Speed Interviewing and Resume Review Event for junior and senior marketing
students on March 26.

Twenty-three students from Marian University and Moraine Park Technical College
participated in the event which provided students with the opportunity to gain invaluable
insight on their interviewing and networking skills.

“It is unique in that this feedback comes directly from marketing professionals
– not career placement services or human resources. It is our chance to let the
students know what is important to succeed in the field of marketing,” said Steve
Andrew, vice president of marketing for IFS North America and one of the event organizers.
“In the end, the students in our community should excel over the competition and,
we should all benefit with stronger job candidates.”

Thirteen Marketing Professionals from area businesses attended this event, providing
critiques on various aspects of the interview process, from the initial handshake,
to eye contact and body language, to how the members present their past skills and
accomplishments for prospective employers. Area professionals include: David Williams,
Brown Boots Interactive; Kristen Quam, Fox Valley Savings Bank; Angie Schmitt, Grande
Cheese Company; Steve Andrew, Laura Stockhausen, and Elaine Wimberly, IFS North
America; Linda Kieckhafer, MAG Automation Systems; Jon Matthews, Mercury Marine;
Holly Leuhring, Michels Corporation; Kayla Kruepke and Molly Moffitt, Agnesian HealthCare;
and Tim Michels and Brad Palches, Pepsi.
