WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Marian University women’s volleyball team has been picked 10th in the NACC preseason poll as voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
Concordia Wisconsin was picked as the favortie to win the league after winning the title last year with a perfect 11-0 record in league play (23-8 overall) and earning a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament after winning their first NACC Tournament title. CUW received 20 of 24 first-place votes and 284 points in the preseason poll.
Aurora University was second with 262 points and four first-place votes while Edgewood College was third with 234.
Dominican University was fourth with 206 points, Lakeland University fifth with 190 while Benedictine University was sixth with 188.
Wisconsin Lutheran College followed in seventh with 135 points, Milwaukee School of Engineering eighth with 103 and Concordia University Chicago ninth with 98.
Marian University (97), Alverno College (43) and Rockford University (32) rounded out the final three spots in the poll.
The NACC’s regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
