Marian women’s tennis sweeps Lakeland in NACC action

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Marian University women’s tennis (3-1, 3-0 NACC) stayed perfect in conference action earning a 9-0 sweep of Lakeland.
Emma Lewandowski and Mackenzie Meyers opened the match with an 8-3 win at the top flight, while Kyrsten Bruce and Carly Paulson stayed perfect on the season at the No. 2 flight with an 8-1 win. At the No. 3 flight, Sarah Mereness, and Abigail Swisher were able to earn a win by default.
Meyers led the way at the No. 2 singles flight with a pair of 6-1 wins, while Paulson at No. 4 only dropped three sets with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Lewandowski earned another top-flight win at 6-4, 6-1, and Bruce won No. 3 with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Mereness at No. 5 flight helped secure the sweep at 6-2, 6-1, and Swisher won No. 6 by default.
Marian travels to MSOE in NACC action Wednesday, Sept. 18 for a 4 p.m. start.
