WAUKESHA, Wis. – After reaching the NACC Tournament for a second consecutive season, the Marian University women’s tennis program has been selected third in the NACC preseason poll as voted on by the coaches and sports information directors of the conference.
Concordia University Wisconsin was picked atop the poll after capturing their second consecutive NACC title last year with a perfect 9-0 record in conference play (16-11 overall) The Falcons also earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament after winning the NACC Tournament for the second straight season.
CUW received 19 of 20 first-place votes and 199 points in the preseason poll.
Edgewood College was second with 180 points and the final top nod while Marian University was third with 142.
Alverno College was fourth with 133 points, Aurora University fifth with 119 and Milwaukee School of Engineering sixth with 107.
Wisconsin Lutheran College (86), Dominican University (68), Lakeland University (35) and Concordia University Chicago (31) rounded out the final four spots in the poll.
The NACC’s regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
