MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s lacrosse (4-4-0, 4-4-0 NACC) defeated Alverno 6-0 to close out conference play.
The Sabres wasted no time scoring a pair of goals in the opening 13 minutes of the game. Junior Natalie Bilyk opened the scoring just 6:33 into the game, assist to freshman Peyton Witt, before freshman Allison Schnell recorded her first-career goal at the 12:42 mark. Freshman Dallas Kreisa then tallied the first goal of her career at the 33:21 mark, assist to sophomore Rosa Lezotte, to put the Sabres ahead 3-0 at the half.
Just 2:49 into the second half, senior Danielle Flouro found the back of the net for the second time this season with an assist to Maya Galicia. Senior Tracianne Jegla netted the first goal of her career then at the 53:55 mark with an assist to Flouro. Bilyk closed out the scoring at the 63:33 mark with her second of the game to set the final at 6-0.
Marian held a 33-4 advantage in shots for the game with three different Sabres recording five shots. Sophomore Brianna Levine (1-0-0) earned the first victory of her career making a pair of saves, while freshman Elizabeth Vitel made a save in the final 19:05 of action.
Marian travels to Ripon for a 2 p.m. kick-off Sunday, April 18 in non-conference action.
