MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s soccer (7-9-0, 5-5-0 NACC) continued their push for a spot in the NACC tournament defeating Wisconsin Lutheran by an 8-2 final.
The Sabres didn’t mess around as Marian was able to score three goals in the opening 20 minutes. Sophomore Kylie Hanley two of the three goals with the first being unassisted and the second assisted by freshman Ashley Welk. Junior Shannon Coughlin was assisted by fellow junior Danielle Flouro between the two Hanley goals for her 11th goal of the season.

Welk netted her 11th goal of the season without an assist to open the second half scoring before Wisconsin Lutheran was able to get on the board. Flouro would find the back of the net in the 67th minute before the Warriors once again responded with a score to bring the game to a 6-2 tally.
Junior Alicia Balken then put the game away with goals at the 82:03 and 82:49 mark for her fourth and fifth goals of the season. Fellow junior Tracianne Jegla assisted the second goal as Marian was able to cruise to the 8-2 win.
The Sabres finished with a 36-7 advantage in shots for the game led by Hanley who produced 11 shots, seven on goal. Sophomore Kylie Lange (7-9-0) faced four shots making a pair of stops in the first half to earn the win in goal for Marian.
