ADRIAN, Mich. – Each team netted a goal on the power play as Marian University women’s hockey (5-16-4, 4-11-3 NCHA) closed out the season with a 1-1 tie at No. 5/6 Adrian.

The first period was quiet with no goals and the Sabres coming up empty on a pair of power play opportunities.  The Bulldogs found the back of the net first at the 6:52 while on the power play, their first man-advantage of the game.

The Sabres were able to answer in the final period when junior Morgan Bolin scored her 11th goal of the season at the 8:44 mark.  The power play goal was assisted by junior Ally Fox and senior Alexis Peterson, who were each skating in their final game as a Sabre.

The Bolin goal proved enough to force overtime where the two squads settled for a tie after neither team could find the back of the net.

Senior Lindsey Strainis (4-15-4) stood on her head for one last time in a Sabre sweater making 46 saves.  Strainis would make 19 saves in the second period, 15 in the third, and five in overtime to earn the tie.

Seniors Sheila Blower, Hailey Miller, Abbey Dokken, Jill Schneider, and Natalie West, along with sophomore Jamie Henrickson also skated in their final games as a Sabre.
