Marian University women’s hockey (4-18-2, 2-11-2 NCHA) tied St. Scholastica 1-1 to open their final series of the season.

The opening period was a defensive battle as only 11 shots would go on net in the scoreless period.  Marian broke the tie when senior Morgan Bolin scored a power-play goal at the 13:45 mark to give the Sabres the lead.  Freshmen Rheanne Peigan and McKenna Krosch each assisted the goal which was number 12 on the year for Bolin.  The goal was part of a second period where Marian outshot the Saints 13-8.

St. Scholastica dominated the final period outshooting Marian 26-3 and tying the game with a goal at the 7:01 mark.  Marian was able to outshoot the Saints 6-5 in the extra frame but neither team lit the lamp leading to the tie.

Peigan led the Sabres with six shots on goal, while senior Maggie Cusey (3-8-2) stopped 45 shots with 25 of her stops coming in the third period.

Marian closed out the season tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 22, hosting St. Scholastica for a 1 p.m. puck drop.
