ASHLAND, Wis. – Marian University women’s hockey (4-11-1, 2-5-1 NCHA) opened a non-conference series at Northland with a 3-0 win, their third shutout of the season.
Marian was able to open the scoring just 4:03 in when senior Morgan Bolin scored for the third-straight game with an assist to freshman Brooke Anderson. The goal was her 44th career point putting her second on the all-time Marian scoring list.
The second period was quiet without any goals before Marian was able to score a pair of goals in the final period. Anderson scored the first goal, her second of the season, at the 10:41 mark with an assist to Bolin. Bolin then lit the lamp without an assist at the 17:40 mark for her first multi-goal game of the season.
Marian finished with a 39-25 advantage ins hots including a 17-10 margin coming in the final period. Sophomore Maegan Shuck led the Sabres with a team-high six shots, while Anderson and freshman Jade Williams each had five.
Senior Maggie Cusey (3-5-1) stopped all 25 shots she faced including all 10 shots she saw in the final period.
Marian closes their series at Northland tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m.
