Marian women’s hockey earns a point with scoreless tie at CUW
November 25, 2019
Marian University women’s hockey (0-5-1, 0-3-1 NCHA) earned their first point of the season with a 0-0 tie at Concordia Wisconsin.
The Sabres were outshot in the game by a 46-25 margin but senior Maggie Cusey (0-2-1) was up to the task stopping all 46 CUW shots. Cusey finished with double-digit saves in every period of regulation and made four more stops in overtime. She also went on to help lead the penalty kill to a perfect night with the Falcons having four power play opportunities.
Freshman Jade Williams led the offense for a second-consecutive game recording five shots, while fellow freshman Brooke Anderson had four shots.
Marian takes on Aurora in a non-conference game at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.
