The Lakeland offense was too much for Marian University women’s volleyball (9-15, 3-8 NACC) as the Sabres dropped their NACC finale in straight sets; 25-17, 25-13 and 25-15.
Marian opened the match strong with a 12-10 lead to open the first set but from there the match was all Lakeland. The Muskies went on a 10-1 run to take a commanding lead in the first set, a 9-2 run to close out the second set and a 13-2 streak to close out the third set.
Freshman Jamie Schrauth had seven kills to pace the offense, while sophomore Kaitlyn Kelley had four kills with a .375 hitting percentage. In the back row, sophomore Jenna Skroski had a team-high 14 digs and fellow sophomore Amber Yahr added 12 digs.
Marian closes out the season when they host Carroll Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. from Sadoff Gym.
