FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Marian University Steel Band, under the direction of percussion instructor, Scott Elford, will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Tuesday, May 5, at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, 51 Sheboygan Street in Fond du Lac.
This one-of-a-kind evening of traditional food and music will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with music by steel drum artists Marisol and Chris Kuborn, who will play island favorites in a small combo setting. The Kuborns will be accompanied by Phill Schmahl on bass and Scott Elford on drums. During this pre-concert music, Chef Richard Nimke will cater an all you can eat buffet style meal of Mexican cuisine.
At 7:00 p.m., the Marian University Steel Band will perform a variety of Trinidadian steel band sounds.
