FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Marian University will be hosting a workshop on “Ethical Considerations for Providing Grief Support: The National Landscape of Bereavement Support for Children, Teens and Families” on Friday, March 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Stayer Center.
The workshop will feature Andy McNiel, executive director for the National Alliance for Grieving Children. McNiel will focus on how to better support children, teens and families when they face end-of-life circumstances; death and what happens after; and skills and knowledge to assist individuals who face life-altering issues.
The cost for this event is $40 per participant, and includes materials and lunch. Graduate credit is available for an additional cost.
In addition to the workshop, a pre-workshop event will be held on Thursday, March 19 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., also in the Stayer Center. It will assist community members who seek information on children’s grieving. The pre-workshop event is free and open to the public.
