Marian University Students Take Second Place in Wisconsin Stock Market Competition

April 9, 2013

Reis, a finance major from Fond du Lac, and Solvik, an accounting and finance major with a minor in marketing from Port Townsend, Washington, participated in the Stock Market Simulation as a part of a project for their investment class taught by Professor Katherine Schuessler. The team managed a hypothetical $100,000 in an online investment portfolio for 10 weeks during the fall 2012 semester. They were given the award because they managed the portfolio with the second highest value at the end of 10 weeks in the state of Wisconsin.
