This pop-up event is being coordinated by Marian marketing students, in partnership with Pop-Up Fond du Lac. “As marketing students, we are learning how to create a marketing plan and then implement the plan. We are excited to put on this event for the community and support our men’s hockey team,” said Melissa Spannbauer, Fond du Lac native and Marian University marketing student.
Pop-Up Fond du Lac is an initiative that tackles a piece of the Envision Fond du Lac endeavor of tactical urbanism. A grassroots team of young professionals formed in the beginning of 2016 and asked what unique things can come to Fond du Lac that can be short-lived and keep a conversation alive about the possibilities the community has for its future. “We are thrilled to see this young group of students empowered to build energy in Fond du Lac and run with this fun, unique pop-up event! We’d love to see more individuals/organizations run with this concept and are happy to collaborate any way we can,” said Jenny Knuth, one of the eight founders of the Pop-Up Fond du Lac initiative. “Not only does this celebrate collaboration in our community, it helps students form a deeper connection to our community – and provides an opportunity for community members to support local students.”
All proceeds support future Pop-Up Fond du Lac events and the Marian University Business Club. For more information on the Sabre Cup pop-up event, visit facebook.com/PopUpFDL.
