– Marian University will hold its 73rd spring commencement on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18.
The Commencement weekend will begin on Friday, May 17, with the School of Nursing and Health Professions pinning ceremony beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Marian’s Sadoff Gymnasium. The School of Education will also hold its pinning and commissioning ceremony on Friday, May 17 at 5:00 p.m. in Dorcas Chapel. All graduates and guests are invited to the President’s Champagne Reception in the Hornung Student Center at 6:00 p.m. following the ceremonies.
Activities on Saturday, May 18 will begin with a Graduation Liturgy in Dorcas Chapel at 10:30 a.m. The graduation ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. outdoors on the Marian University quad. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Sadoff Gymnasium.
Giving the keynote address will be Dr. Bruce Prall, professor of Chemistry at Marian University. Dr. Prall will be retiring following the spring 2013 semester after 42 years of service to the University. Dr. Prall began at Marian in 1971 and hasserved the university in a variety of capacities, including professor of chemistry, athletic director, and men’s and women’s basketball coach.
