Marian University nursing students and faculty will serve hot soup, cookies and bread from noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, outside the school’s Center for Health Professions in downtown Fond du Lac.
With a tent set up and a grab-and-go arrangement, students and faculty are hoping to use the Social Justice Committee-sponsored event to bring comfort to individuals on Main Street who may need their spirits lifted.
“The idea is to provide service to our food insecure friends and neighbors in Fond du Lac,” said Rachel Loduha, assistant professor of nursing. “Leading up to the holiday season, people may be experiencing food insecurities and we want to show those individuals that the community cares.”
An estimated 80 people will be served. All are invited to attend.
