FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Stefanie Dziedzic, a graduate student pursing a degree in Thanatology, was recently featured in Connections, a newsletter that is for the “Gifts of Hope: Organ and Tissue Donation Network” team members, in an article that celebrated her recent achievements.
Achievements include: her paper on cultural bereavement practices being cited in the book Do Funerals Matter by Billy Hoy, published on March 10. The article also talked about herupcoming presentation at the International Transplant Nurses Society in September. Her presentation will discuss how hospitals and the Organ Procurement Organization work together “to make [organ] donation a safe and realistic option for grieving families” as well as will “dispel some myths about donation.”
