The Marian University Board of Trustees recently approved and awarded tenure to three members of the University’s faculty.
The newly-tenured professors are Dr. Kelly Chaney, Dr. Justin Ponder and Dr. Kristi Reitz.
Dr. Kelly Chaney joined Marian University as Dean of the School of Education in June 2016, and currently serves as associate vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies at Marian University.
Dr. Justin Ponder is associate professor of English and chair of the English Department at Marian University where he teaches courses on Expository Writing, Argumentative and Research Writing, American Literature, African American Literature, and Film. His research has been published in The Journal of Popular Culture, Religion and the Arts, and Religion and the Arts. His book, The Word Was Made Film: Art Cinema and Theology, is forthcoming.
Dr. Kristi Shaw Reitz has been at Marian University since 2011, and currently serves as associate professor and educational technology program director. Reitz earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning and completed her dissertation on instructional design within iTunes U. She earned her master of arts degree from Marian University in Educational Technology and her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Reitz is a member of the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA) Board of Directors, where she serves as the Director of Higher Education.
