Marian track and field opens season at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. – Marian University track and field saw two records set as the Sabres opened their season at the Carthage Private College Invite.

Brittney Roser set a new school record in the shot put finishing in seventh place with a throw of 10.81-meters, while Miera Smith jumped nearly just as far at 9.89-meters to finish fifth in the triple jump and set the second school record.

Sydney Cihak also had a good showing on the women’s side in the 200-meter dash with a time of 33.02 putting her in 20th.  On the men’s side of that same race, Tyler Grisham clocked in at 24.93 to finish in third place.

Also on the men’s side, Colin Wilson finished the 55-meter dash in 7.02 to finish in 11th place, while in the one mile run, Jacob Leiden clocked in at 18:52.71 to finish in second place.

Marian is next in action Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Pioneer Open, hosted by UW-Platteville.
