KENOSHA, Wis. – A total of nine personal records were set and four school records were rewritten as Marian University track and field competed at the NACC Indoor Championships.
In the field events, Brittney Roser and Emily Grunwald each had strong showings with Roser setting a new school record in the shot put. Roser finished fifth in the event with a toss of 12.09 meters, while Grunwald finished 22nd with a toss of 7.66 meters. In the weight throw, Roser finished in 18th with a throw of 11.30 meters and Grunwald placed 23rd after an 8.11-meter toss.
Miera Smith also set a new record in a field event when she took home a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.31 meters.
For the 55-meter hurdles, Cynthia Ottesen placed 14th with a time of 13.04 seconds to set a new school record. In the longer distances, Jacob Leiden finished in 12th place for the mile with a time of 4:55.26, which was also good for a school record. On the women’s side, Alexis Brost finished 13th in the mile clocking in at 6:19.81 and Alyssa Zuhlke took 16th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 12:10.51.
Marian kicks off the outdoor portion of their season Saturday, April 7 traveling to Beloit for the Private College Championships.
