Marian University will be hosting a “Violence in the Home” presentation on Thursday, September 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Stayer Center Dining Room.
This presentation will explore resilience in child and adult survivors of abuse, neglect and trauma. This past year in Wisconsin, 55 lives were lost to domestic or home-related violence across 22 different Wisconsin counties.
Amy Hennings, assistant professor at Marian, and Leslie Jaber-Wilson, associate professor at Marian, will keynote the presentation. Amy Hennings, MA, LCPC, has been a professional counselor for over 20 years and has worked extensively with child and adult survivors of severe neglect, abuse and trauma. Hennings also serves as the Program Director for the Psychology Department at Marian.
Leslie Jaber-Wilson, MSW, APSW, has been a professional social worker for more than 20 years, working primarily with children in residential and foster care settings. In addition, Jaber-Wilson serves as the Program Director of the Community Health and Human Services program.
