FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Marian University art students recently featured their photographs in the Capturing the Community exhibit at the Share Fine Art Gallery in Fond du Lac from April 30 – May 5.
The art exhibit was inspired by student participation in service-learning opportunities throughout the Fond du Lac area, as part of their Photo Narrative course.
“This course encouraged students to see themselves and their communities in a new light, to explore their community through the lens of a camera and to share their perspectives with others through the publication and exhibition of their work,” said Hillary Quella, art instructor at Marian University. “This was such a positive experience for students to build ties with our community and to have the experience of professionally exhibiting their work in an art gallery.”
Students involved in the art show include: Katie Boehm of New Auburn; Marissa Kultgen of Glenbeulah; Sarah Razner of Fond du Lac; Sarah Spry of Milwaukee; Antonio Trinidad of Chicago, Ill.; Tamera Werkheiser of Green Bay; Michaela Yopps of DePere; Whitney Harmes of Beaver Dam; Chris Kelley of Fond du Lac; Beth Meyer of Sheboygan Falls; Hailey Reimer of Campbellsport; John Schmidt of Green Bay; Melissa Schmidt of Fond du Lac; and Leah Walker of Stoughton.
