WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Marian University men’s soccer team received 110 votes, good for seventh, in the NACC preseason poll as voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.
Dominican was picked to win the NACC after capturing the title last season with a 9-0-1 record in league play (12-2-4 overall) for its 10th regular season NACC championship in the last 11 seasons. Dominican received 15 of 22 first-place votes and 233 points in the preseason poll.
Benedictine University was second with 218 points and five top votes while Concordia University Wisconsin was third with 183 and the final two top nods. Milwaukee School of Engineering with fourth with 179 points, Aurora University fifth with 167 and Wisconsin Lutheran College sixth with 127.
Marian University was seventh with 110, Edgewood College eighth with 96 and Lakeland University ninth with 54. Concordia University Chicago and Rockford University rounded out the final two spots in the poll with 46 and 39 points.
The NACC’s regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
