JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Marian University men’s golf team finished the first round of the Culver’s Edgewood Invite in fifth place shooting a team score of 313.
Central College and Webster University each shot a team score of 300 to open the invite in the lead, while Zac Ciesla of Webster shot an even 71 and sits atop the individual leaderboard.
Maxwell Dye and Jake Sherwood paced the Sabres each shooting a five-over 76, good for a 12th place tie. Christian Taylor finished three strokes behind Dey and Sherwood with a 79. Aaron Rick concluded the scoring the Sabres with an 11-over 82. AJ Rambaud was the final shooter for the team and he opened with an 89.
The Sabres also had a second team in competition at the invite led by Chris Stephens and Kyle Doyle who each shot an 85 and 86, respectively. James Mathias and Matty Taylor each shot an 89, while Jake Howie finished with a 93 to close out all Sabre golfers.
