WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Marian University men’s soccer (3-2-0, 3-2-0 NACC) posted their third-straight shutout defeating WLC 4-0.
Marian came out firing with sophomore Chase Hayden scoring his third goal of the season without an assist in just the seventh minute. A red card in the 13th minute then put the Warriors down a man and the Sabres were able to score shortly after. Sophomore Brad Leach was the goal scorer for Marian with the goal serving as the first of his career, assist to Hayden. This gave Marian a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Sabres continued to roll with sophomore Max Kauffman scoring at the 55:14 mark with an assist to senior Cade Klusendorf. Then just 30 seconds Kauffman would score again, assist to freshman Drew Cowden, to put Marian ahead 4-0.
Kauffman and Leach each had three shots to lead the offense, while senior Kevin Cervantes (3-1-0) earned the win stopping all three shots that he faced.
Marian hits the road to take on Concordia Wis. Monday, April 5 for a 4 p.m. start.
