RIPON, Wis. – Marian University men’s soccer (4-4-0, 3-4-0 NACC) scored all their goals in the second half to defeat Ripon 3-1.
Scoring was at a premium to open the game with Ripon managing the only goal of the first half with just 28 seconds left until halftime. Marian was finally able to provide an equalizer at the 74:25 mark when sophomore Max Kauffman scored his fifth goal of the season with an assist to freshman Drew Cowden. Cowden then scored a pair of goals in the final eight minutes of the game, assist to Kauffman on his second goal, to seal the comeback win.
Marian outshot the Red Hawks 20-13 with Cowden recording four shots, all of which were on goal. Senior Cory Koehler (1-3-0) earned the win in goal for Marian as he stopped four of the five shots he faced.
Marian travels to MSOE Thursday, April 22 to open the NACC Tournament with the kick-off time to be announced at a later date.
