Marian University men’s lacrosse (8-4, 4-3 MLC) didn’t allow a goal after the first quarter on their way to a 27-3 win over North Central (Minn.).
The Sabres would score eight goals in the first quarter, nine goals in the second quarter, six goals in the third quarter, and four goals in the final quarter to tally 27 total goals. After allowing three goals in the first quarter, the Marian defense went on to only allow six North Central (Minn.) shots the remainder of the game. The Sabres finished with 76 shots, 47 of which came in the first half, to go with 69 ground balls.
Marian had nine student-athletes with multi-goal games led by freshmen Erik Horman and Colt Robertson along with sophomores Nick Garcia and Connor Houlihan who all scored three goals. Horman, Robertson, and sophomore Nick Klotz all had three assists as well. Freshman Tyler Holmes recorded a game-high 10 ground balls, while Robertson, Horman, and freshman Jackson Allsop all had multiple caused turnovers.
In goal, Dan Liberko earned his first victory making two saves on the five shots he faced.
Marian next travels to Fontbonne Saturday, April 20 for a 1 p.m. MLC game.
