HARTFORD, Wis. – Marian University men’s golf shot a 405, with five scorers out of a six-man lineup, to finish eighth at the WLC Fall Invite.
Maxwell Dye and Jake Sherwood each shot a 79 to pace the Sabres and finish tied for 25th out of the field of 88 golfers. Jake Bell and Tyler Demeuse also shot the same score carding an 81 with Caleb Martin rounding out the Marian scoring with an 85. Aaron Rick was the final golfer for the Sabres finishing with a 90.
The fourth-place through eighth place team for the event were only separated by seven strokes. Edgewood would earn the team title after scoring a 379, while Jordan Knutson of Carthage shot two-under-par for the individual title.
Due to rain, the second day of the event was canceled leaving the scores from the opening round to serve as the final results.
Marian travels to the MSOE Invite, held at the Grand Geneva Resort, Sept. 29-30.
