Marian University golf played the first of their home invite from Whispering Springs with the men’s squad holding the lead after shooting a 305 and the women in fourth after a 461.
The Sabre men hold a three-stroke lead over Concordia Wisconsin being led by Jake Sherwood who is tied for the overall lead after a 74. Maxwell Dye, Caleb Martin, and Tyler Demeuse are all one shot apart after recording a 76, 77, and 78, respectively. Kyle Doyle rounded out the Marian lineup after shooting an 83.
The second Marian team was led by Aaron Rick who finished with an 80, while OJ Garcia was just one stroke behind with an 81. AJ Rambaud and Jake Bell each shot an 85, while Jarryd Gano closed out the team with an 88.
The final Marian team was led by Lane Valmont who shot an 84 with James Mathias just one stroke behind him. Michael Cosenza shot an 89, while Paul Kinder rounded out the scoring for the team with a 92. Tyler Buerman shot a 101 to close out the team.
The Marian women were led by Tayler Wise who shot a 97 to finish in a tie for eighth after one round. Alison Grosenick and Shelby Davidson each shot a 119, while Sydney Clark finished with a 126 to close out the squad.
UW-Platteville leads the women’s invite after one round led by Alyssa Elko who sits atop the leaderboard at 83.
The Sabres close out their home invite tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, from Whispering Springs.
