Marian University eSports capped off the fall season with an NECC Championship in Overwatch after reaching the semifinals for Valorant.
The Sabres were able to earn the No. 2 seed for the Challengers Cyan league in Valorant after going 6-1. Marian trailed only Fresno State in their league who finished the regular season with a 7-1 record. The opener of the Valorant Tournament saw the Sabres earn a 2-1 victory over No. 7 California State University Dominguez Hills. Marian was then pitted against No. 3 Purdue Diamond, a squad that finished with the same 6-1 record during the regular season. The Sabres would see their season come to an end against Purdue before Fresno State eventually claimed the championship.
The Marian Overwatch team had an even more successful season clinching the top seed in the Emergents Cyan League. The Sabres continued to show their dominance in the league earning the championship after dropping only one game. Marian opened the tournament run with a three-game sweep of No. 8 Concordia Nebraska and followed that up with a 3-1 victory over No. 5 Fresno State Blue. The Sabres dropped the first game of the match but bounced back to win the final three games to earn their spot in the championship match. Marian had to face the No. 2 Carnegie Mellon University Academy but made quick work of them earning a four-game sweep.
