WAUKESHA, Wis. – Marian University baseball picked up 58 votes and has been picked to finish in a tie for ninth in the NACC preseason poll.
Concordia Chicago was picked as the league favorite with 241 points including 21 of the 22 possible first-place votes. The Cougars won their fifth consecutive title last year with an 18-2 record in league play (34-13 overall) and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship Finals after winning the Midwest Regional.
Concordia University Wisconsin was second with 199 points, Benedictine University third with 195 and Aurora University fourth with 189.
MSOE was fifth with 146 points, while Dominican University and Edgewood College tied for sixth with 124.
Rockford University was eighth with 87 points and the final first-place selection, Marian University and Wisconsin Lutheran College tied for ninth with 58, while Lakeland University filled the final spot with 31.
The NACC’s regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
