Marian University athletics has announced the continuation of their policy to not allow in-person attendance for the beginning of spring sports.
This decision was made to protect the safety and well-being of not only the Marian University community but visiting teams as well. With the limitations our outdoor facilities are currently under, it was determined as currently being unsafe for fans to be allowed to attend games in person. This decision will be continually monitored and this policy is not expected to span the entirety of the spring. Marian athletics fully expects to allow in-person attendance later this spring when our facilities and gameday protocols are deemed safe to do so.
“The decision to continue to not allow fans was a difficult one but we continue to put the safety and well-being of the Marian University community at the forefront of all our decisions,” commented director of athletics Jason Bartelt. “The safety of everyone in the Marian University community remains a focal point for us during these unprecedented times. We do not expect this policy to be in place for the entirety of the spring, and we are currently working on plans to safely resume in-person attendance later this spring. We continue to urge fans to do their part in containing COVID-19 by wearing masks and practicing social distancing whenever possible.”
Marian athletics will continue to provide a free online feed for as many games as possible at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/marianwi/.
