February 2, 2021

A pair of juniors have been named the Sabres of the Month for January with Paris Harris earning the nod for women’s basketball and David Britton of men’s basketball earning his first selection.

Harris (Hammond, Ind.) led the Sabres in scoring averaging 15.0 points per game, which currently ranks seventh in the NACC, while also grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game, second on the squad.  She finished with double-digit points in all four games during the month of January and posted a season-best 21 points in the opener of the Edgewood series.  Her range was also on display in the Edgewood series where she hit four three-pointers in the opener and knocked down another pair of triples in the finale.  Harris also had at least five rebounds in every game during the month with a season-high eight rebounds in the season opener against Alverno.  On the defensive side of the ball, Harris had at least one steal in all four games with a pair of steals in the finale against Edgewood.

Britton (Hartford, Wis.) was a consistent scorer for the Sabres all month and is off to a strong start in his Sabre career.  Britton averaged a team-best 20.0 points per game, fifth in the NACC, after a 31-point performance in the finale against Edgewood.  Britton shot 75.0-percent from the field in his 31-point performance and hit four of his five three-point attempts (.800).  He also had five assists in that game and averaged 3.7 assists per game over the course of his three games in January.  Britton is currently shooting 53.5-percent from the field and has knocked down 44.0-percent of his three-point attempts.  He has also seen plenty of action through three games averaging 32.3 minutes per game and logged 37 minutes in the finale against Edgewood.

Both basketball programs take on Wisconsin Lutheran this weekend with the women playing at home and the men on the road.
