Marian, Agnesian HealthCare to sponsor grief support sessions

September 8, 2015

FOND
DU LAC, Wis. –

Marian
University and Agnesian HealthCare’s Bereavement Center and Grief Relief will
be sponsoring grief support sessions throughout the academic year. These
support sessions are intended for individuals age 18 to 25, who have
experienced the death of someone close to them.

“Many individuals who are transitioning to college
or those who are starting in the work force are struggling with the deaths of a
significant person, such as a grandparent, parent, sibling or close friend,”
said Sharon Stoffel, bereavement counselor at Agnesian HealthCare’s Bereavement
Center and Grief Relief. “Many individuals at this age may be dealing with
traumatic deaths, such as suicide or drug overdose. These sessions reflect our
collaborative effort to help support this demographic and address their
grieving needs.”

Sessions are led by professional staff and trained
volunteers and will be held every third Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m.
to 8 pm. at Marian’s Campus Ministry Center, 761 E. Division Street.

The September meeting will be held in a Meet and
Greet format, offering interested participants the opportunity to ask questions
and receive additional information about the grief support sessions.

These sessions are free and
open to the public. No registration is required. For more information, please
call 920-907-3940.
