DE PERE, Wis. – Marian University women’s hockey (4-13-1, 2-6-1 NCHA) dropped their opener of an NCHA series at St. Norbert by a 3-2 final.

The defenses came to play as the two squads would only fire 37 shots on goal in the game.  The Green Knights opened the scoring in the first period before freshman Brooke Anderson scored her third goal of the season at the 3:42 mark of the second period to tie the game after two periods.  Senior Morgan Bolin and freshman Lily Parmeter each earned an assist on the goal.

The Sabres then took their first lead of the game when senior Morgan Bolin scored her 10th goal of the season at the 7:06 mark of the final period.  Anderson and junior Mary Clark each earned an assist.

The Green Knights responded with an equalizer at the 9:41 mark and then took the lead back for good just 1:02 later.

Senior Maggie Cusey (3-6-1) took the defeat in goal making 16 saves with half of her stops coming in the first period.

Marian closes out their series at SNC tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 1, for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
