Marian University women’s hockey (0-5-1, 0-3-1 NCHA) fell to Concordia Wisconsin by a 6-2 final in their series finale.
The Sabres hung with the Falcons trading goals to a 2-2 score before the Falcons scored four unanswered goals, the last of which was an empty-net tally. After an early CUW goal to open the game, senior Hailey Miller scored her second goal in as many games at the 16:17 mark of the first period with assists to sophomore Maegan Shuck and junior Morgan Bolin.
Concordia Wisconsin was able to grab the lead to open the second period before junior Hannah Koniar netted a power play goal at the 6:58 mark. Senior Jill Schneider assisted the goal which came just five seconds after the penalty call.
Senior Lindsey Strainis (0-5-1) made 38 saves in the game with 15 different Marian skaters recording a shot.
Marian hits the road to take on Trine Friday, Nov. 16 for a 6 p.m. (CST) puck drop in NCHA action.
